We live in Ames, Iowa. Yard is shaded by mature trees on our property and that a of adjoining property owners. On this morning’s WHO-TV, you mentioned and recommended shade tolerant plants. Would it be possible for you to provide a listing of the aforementioned plants?
Also, over the last 10 years, we have planted daffodill bulbs in the fall. The foliage looks vigorous, but the blooms do not bloom the following spring. Tulip bulbs have also been planted, but after a couple of years lose their vigor and do not produce blooms.
Thank you for any assistance and advice you can provide.

Thank you for your question..AND watching our garden segment on WHOtv.
I’ve posted information about the 4 cool plants for the shade here: http://timberpineunplugged.com/2010/05/01/4-cool-plants-for-the-shade/ Let me know if you have any questions about them!
I’m not sure about your bulbs at this time. Let me do some asking around and get back to you!
thanks again for your comment!
Hi My name is Suzy Gerlicher and I am writing to you to see if you could possibly help my sister and I identify two plants that we have growing in our flowerbed. We’ve asked people who know plants, and they’re as stumped as we are. I can take a picture later and then send in an email with an attachment if that would be easiest. Any help would be good, since we really need to know if it is a glorified weed or an ornamental grass or plant. Thanks, Suzy Gerlicher
Please take a picture and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll see if we can help you identify it.
